Registered Apprenticeships
The Shenandoah Valley Energy Partnership (SVEP) received a $5 million grant to develop instructional programs designed to help our workforce acquire new skills in sustainable construction, manufacturing, building design and renewable energy industries. Scholarships and grants may be available to those who need financial assistance and meet the necessary qualifications.
Program Prerequisite Requirements
To qualify for grant funding, you must be a Registered Apprentice with the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry and participating in your program of study, designed by your company sponsor. Approved grant funding providers include:
- Massanutten Technical Center (MTC);
- Valley Vocational Technical Center (VVTC);
- Jackson River Technical Center (JRTC); or
- Dabney S Lancaster Community College (DSLCC).
You must be able to finish apprenticeship program by February, 2013.

Green Training Components
Additional green component training with credential is required and may include one or more of the following:
- Your Role in the Green Environment – NCCER Greenworker Credential
- Industrial Energy Auditor – VMA CIEA Credential
- Customized training with credential as identified by employer sponsor and program of study
